Cryptocurrency space is full of people who simply like to do what they love without basking into the glory of their work. Satoshi Nakamoto is the leader of all such people. Despite starting a revolution with Bitcoin, he didn’t bother to reveal his identity till date.
But there are also many other such figures that are not as well known as Satoshi. Their low popularity doesn’t mean that they’ve contributed less to the crypto space. They too have done some very meaningful contributions in this space.
And now for the first time, two of them are about to reveal their identities.
Putting an end (possibly) to the anonymity
If you follow crypto space, you might have used CoinMarketCap at least once. It’s also known as CMC in short. But you may not know that it is a completely remote company with no office anywhere in the world. In fact, even its founder is an anonymous figure.
But now it’s looking that the anonymity around its founder is about to end. CMC is going to host a first of its kind event called ‘The Capital’ in Singapore between November 12 and 13. And the most interesting thing about this event is that its website mentions Brandon Chez, the Founder of CMC, as one of the speakers. You can see it here.
So there’s a chance that Brandon may make his first public appearance at this event. But he won’t be the only anonymous crypto space leader appearing at this event. The website also mentions Sunny King, the inventor of PoS consensus algorithm and founder of Peercoin, as a speaker. Sunny has also been as anonymous as Brandon – there are no pictures of him, and he almost never made any public appearances earlier.
So there will be two anonymous crypto industry leaders speaking at ‘The Capital’ in Singapore. But before you get too excited, there are a few things that you should keep in mind:
- First of all, these two guys have maintained a very low profile till now. There’s no reason for them to reveal their identity now.
- And secondly, CMC has not said that either of these guys is going to unmask themselves at the event.
So there’s a possibility that both Sunny and Brandon may choose to address the event via audio conferencing. We can’t say with certainty that we’re going to see them.
Event to be a star-studded affair
Even if both Brandon and Sunny don’t attend The Capital in person, the event is still going to be a star-studded affair. It already has a long list of other major crypto community leaders who’re going to address it, including:
- Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao,
- Blockstream CSO Samson Mow,
- Cloudflare MD Aliza Knox,
- VeChain CEO Sunny Lu,
- R3 Director Antony Lewis,
- OceanEx CEO Xiaoning Nan
- Bithumb MD Javier Sim
- Crypto.com Co-Founder Bobby Bao
- Huobi CEO Livio Weng
- Canaan Creative General Manager Kevin Shao
- Deribit COO Marius Jenson
- And Etherscan CEO Matthew Tan.
This list may also get longer, as there’s a time of two months remaining in the event.
So whether Brandon and Sunny attend the event in person or not, this is going to be a big event for the whole crypto community. And we’ll be covering it in detail, so keep checking our updates.
