Why I Am A Full-time Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Blogger

Starting today, I am a full-time blogger here at Luv Crypto. I will be writing about blockchain and cryptocurrencies. It is my conscious decision to step into this industry. I am excited and eager to see where this goes.

In fact, there is a reason why I chose cryptocurrency (and blockchain) over everything else.

I will talk about it in this post. Plus, I will also talk about the benefits and challenges you face as a full-time blogger in this space.

Before that, I believe it is important for you to know my background. Here’s a little bit about me:

My Name Is Sid

I live in India. In a city called Bangalore. Here is where you will find startups, entrepreneurs, and top tech companies. Plus, you will also find its weather and traffic fascinating.

Considered the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore influenced my life deeply. It made me tech-aware and strengthened my love for the Internet.

In fact, I was so fascinated with the Internet that I was addicted to it.

And This Addiction Turned Into An Oppurtunity!

I guess some addictions are good.

Because, as I started browsing the Internet, I was learning about business and marketing.

After all, if I am giving my time to something, why not make the best of it?

It started with a college friend, and we together learned to build simple websites. It was a drop in the ocean. That’s because, once we had the website up and running, we discovered it was also important to:

  • Write articles
  • Generate traffic
  • Monetize our blog

Perhaps a bit too much for 17 year old kids.

But we did it anyway.

Then I started another website around technology, and wrote articles every day. I promoted this blog every day. Understood and implemented SEO techniques. Got into social media marketing.

And within a couple of years, I was able to generate millions of visitors to my websites. In fact, I have generated over 30 million pageviews.

Blogging Was Fascinating

To the point that I never had a job in my life. In fact, I quickly hired freelancers to write articles each and every day.

By the time I graduated, I was earning a decent chunk to live a comfortable life. My blogs were doing well until I decided to move away from it.

Why?

Several reasons. First, one of my remote editor passed away. That is when I stopped looking for new writers and stopped building a team. Plus, it was at this time that I lost interest in blogging.

Money didn’t move me. Books did.

So I studied books day and night – around spirituality, motivation, and marketing. In fact, I read for two years – thousands of books – to find answers to my questions.

In Between Which I Found Cryptocurrency

It wasn’t until 2014 that I started learning about blockchain and cryptocurrency. For me, it was a gamble. Perhaps a fun hobby to collect Bitcoin and trade it all away at a loss.

It didn’t matter. Nor did it matter to me when my hard disk crashed.

When I first started, I purchased Bitcoin and Litecoin. And slowly, like everyone else, lost interest in holding these coins and moved onto copywriting and creating tiny yet passive income websites.

In 2017, I decided To Re-enter Crypto!

It started with me blogging on Steemit. And I collected Steem for fun. Then I collected other cryptocurrencies. It gave me a thrill like nothing else.

It was like blogging.

This is when I chose to work in a co-working space:

Determined to restart everything, I built my other websites and increased my passive income. And then, as blockchain and crypto adoption increased, I got into it right away.

This is how I started Luv Crypto. I don’t have a mission / vision for it yet. But the goal is simple: to make it a popular cryptocurrency / blockchain blog.

Challenges With Cryptocurrency Blogs

  1. Keeping up with the news: As a full-time blogger in cryptocurrency and blockchain space, it is tough to keep up with the news. That is because there are 1000+ cryptocurrencies and dozens of them are announcing something of importance. It is like tracking thousands of startups to see what’s new. Plus, as most of them do not have a working product (but is trending), it is a dicey situation for a blogger / journalist.
  2. Scaling: Even investing 24/7 isn’t sufficient to build a popular cryptocurrency blog. There is news every minute, and it is important to weed out the bad news – and publish the good ones. For this, you need more people – more writers – researchers. And it is difficult as a lot of writers in India and outside do not understand the blockchain technology. Most of them I interviewed had very little knowledge about investing.

Those who do? They charge a bomb. So finding a cryptocurrency and blockchain expert writer – blogger – content creator – is a real challenge.

  3. Truth is a lie: There is no way for us to know if a story is true. We have to rely on other sources, or receive a secret tip to create news. Even then, it is a tricky situation as what you see online is not what is real.

What’s Next

Luv Crypto is a simple blog. So is the design. And content. I am keeping it that way until we hit a million visitors per month. The way we are seeing organic (search) growth, we will hit that number in the next one year.

And if anyone is interested in cryptocurrency space, and wish to get started, don’t think twice. This is the time. Get into it. Experiment. Learn. And do what you love.

Do contact me if you have any questions.

Cheers to this new journey!
Sid
